Owning Your Own Legitimate Home Based Business in Wisconsin
I saw one the other day that said, "travel the world with your own legitimate home based business opportunity." It's a mouthful, and read carefully. Travel the world with a home based business? Anyone else notice the oxymoron there? Obviously, these ads wouldn't be running if people weren't finding opportunities outside of traditional employment, and often in their homes. Now I don't know why they market them that way, but that's a whole other topic we won't go into right now. So, that having been said, if you're still reading, then we're probably on the same page about goals, and I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Jonathan. I've never taken an official class in web design, sales, or marketing for that matter. (I have gone to see Brian Tracy one time though.) I don't have any particular special training or degrees. I am, as of September 2004, a college graduate (B.A. Human Communication), and a certified massage therapist (CMT) in Colorado, USA. I suppose if you want to count my B.A. or CMT as special training for having my own home based business, you can. But what I've learned about being successful hasn't happened because of my degree or CMT, it's happened because I've gone through a lot of trial and error with home-based businesses, both on and off line. I am single, and I have a great girlfriend. I was a high school German and theater teacher for 2 years out of college, and realized very quickly that the salary I was earning was helping me to pay the bills, but not really to get ahead, and that was not okay with me.
