March 22 - July 22

31 Marz (Bremen)
When Kurt and I got back to the dorms after partying in the street until 3:00, the Spanish people on the 3rd floor in Huntemannstrasse were still partying and having a great time!
The girl on the left is from Spain, and I can't remember her name. It's a
nice Spanish name, it's just slipped my mind at the moment. Katie is the
girl in the middle. She's from Minnesota. The girl on the right I
also can't remember what her name is, but she is from Ireland. (It
was a costume party if you're wondering why everyone is dressed a little
strange.)
Kurt left about 3:30 AM, I left about 4:00 AM. (I heard the music and the party until at least 5:00.) Then we got up to go to Bremen on Saturday morning at 9:30 AM.
This is a street in downtown Oldenburg near the train station.
Then we went to the Bahnhof (train station) in Oldenburg, to catch the slow train to Bremen. Even on the slow train, it's only about 30 minutes.
If you don't have a car here, you definitely have a bike. (All of these were parked in front of the Bahnhof.)
Anne und Mara on the Zug on the way to Bremen
Then we arrived in Bremen, which I will definitely go back to visit more than once. What a fun city! Bremen has a lot of history and a lot of really great architecture, as you'll see from the pictures.
These are the lions holding the city shield/coat of
arms.
The big windmill in Bremen
This is everyone who went to Bremen. From the left Kurt (Colorado), Anne (Germany), me (Colorado), Jill (Wisconsin), Jim (Wisconsin), Aliyr (Kazakhstan), Kelly (Wisconsin), and Mara (originally from Italy, but has been living in Wisconsin for a while.) Click to enlarge the picture.
I haven't yet figured out how to get my pictures turned the right way. When I do, pictures of the famous statue of the Bremen stadt Musikanten will appear here. If you don't know the story of the Bremen town musicians, click here.
If you look closely, you can see the four musicians on this bar that is found in Bremen.

I lived and studied at the German university in Oldenburg which is near Bremen, and about two hours east of Hamburg, Germany. Clearly visible on the map are Bremen and Twistringen, Germany. When I go back, I'd like to visit Hannover and Berlin, as well as Cologne. Also, I'd like to visit more German castles, Because I only visited two in Nuremberg.
