Trip to Bavaria

Anne was going to visit her grandparents, aunt and uncle, and friend Claudia in Bavaria.  She invited me to come along, so I did!

Just to dispel any myths any of you might have heard about the Autobahn...  This is the autobahn.  See the people standing in the traffic?  We sat in a traffic jam on the autobahn for 1 1/2 hours.  But yes, there are also places on the Autobahn where there are no speed limits, and people drive here like they are supposed to.  NO LEFT HAND LANE CRUISERS!!!  It's much more pleasant to drive on the highway when people drive like they're supposed to.

Then we were on our way, driving through the German countryside!

Guxhagen

Guxhagen panorama

This is Guxhagen, a small town we stopped in along the way to have some McDonald's (Yes, they're all over here as well).  The church on the top we couldn't go into because it was already 7:00 PM by the time we got to Guxhagen, but it looked really cool from the outside!

We stayed the night at Anne's grandparents' house on the 27th.

Germany Map - where I lived

I lived and studied at the German university in Oldenburg which is near Bremen, and about two hours east of Hamburg, Germany.  Clearly visible on the map are Bremen and Twistringen, Germany.  When I go back, I'd like to visit Hannover and Berlin, as well as Cologne.  Also, I'd like to visit more German castles, Because I only visited two in Nuremberg.  Click on the Germany links on this page to see pictures and advice about studying abroad in Germany (and traveling advice for France), or click the links below to go to strive4impact.com's other pages.
