If you look closely, you can see my reflection in both of these pictures. This artwork sits in a plaza right outside of the Bahnhof in Bremen. It was pretty funny to read the sign all about Elvis in Bremen, Germany.

When you go to Bremen, you must hold the donkey's legs and make a wish so that your wish will come true, just like the wishes of the Bremerstadtmusikanten came true. The legs of the donkey are polished to a shiny gold as a result of so many people having come and touched them.
Click on the above picture to get a good idea of the incredible architecture, all in one place in Bremen. I'll probably have to go back and re-do this shot better. On the left is a church that I can't remember what it is called. In the middle is the old Rathaus (City Hall) for Bremen. On the right is St. Peter's Cathederal, where we went to hear Brahms' Requiem. The acoustics were beyond description!
Something interesting I learned last night (from a really cool tour guide who helped us out a lot) about the Bremen Cathederal is that it was completely destroyed (don't know why yet--probably something to do with the religious wars between the Protestant and Catholic churches), and was begun to be re-built in 1889. They couldn't find even one stone from the original cathedral. So this cathedral is really not that old, but was built in the same place, and with the same design as the original one. It is incredibly magnificent!
Kurt (Colorado) and Trish (Wisconsin) enjoying McDonald's!
We got our tickets at 7:00, and the concert didn't start until 8:00, so we had time to grab a quick bite at Mickey D's.
The choir in the choir loft at the back of
the cathederal. I took the picture on the left with a flash, and the one
on the right without. The picture without a flash actually came out
better.
There are a lot of people in the St. Peter's
Cathedral Choir and orchestra!

Neither of these came out very clear.
The one on the left, I forgot to turn my flash back on. The one on the
right was taken by someone else. But anyway, this is the group that went
to Brahms' Requiem in Bremen. Kurt, Trish, Jim, Alicia, Kelly, and me.
Then we took the train back to Oldenburg and went to Jim's place to celebrate his birthday (didnt you get enough partying done on Wednesday night Jim?), and to celebrate the fact that Claudia, his roommate, is done with college!

I don't even know what to say here.

Schovit
(Schocko- Vit... the vit stands for
something I can't remember.)
At 3:00 AM, Schovit seemed like a pretty
funny thing to name a chocolate drink mix.
Then I decided to have fun with my camera!

| Geduldig, geduld | Patient, patience |
German phrase of the day, taught to me by the lady I was sitting next to at the cathedral in Bremen.
April, April, bringt was er will.
(In reference to the weather. April brings whatever weather it wants to bring.)

I lived and studied at the German university in Oldenburg which is near Bremen, and about two hours east of Hamburg, Germany. Clearly visible on the map are Bremen and Twistringen, Germany. When I go back, I'd like to visit Hannover and Berlin, as well as Cologne. Also, I'd like to visit more German castles, Because I only visited two in Nuremberg.
