This is the section of Strive4Impact.com, where you can read, every day, something I wrote since I was 13 years old (1993).  Some of it's adolescent angst, but some of it is quite good, and I hope you'll agree.  What are we up to now? Currently, my wife and I are traveling the world and blogging our experience.  We may have been somewhere you would like to go, or maybe we could come to meet you?  Either way, you may find our reviews and advice helpful.  Check it out at http://www.CarrieAndJonathan.com

Perceptions Of Reality

Summer 1995
Jonathan is 15

Perceptions of Reality
The way I view the world
The way other people perceive me
The way we each see the world individually

Perception is based on our senses
What we hear
What we smell
What we taste
What we touch
and mostly
What we see

What our senses show
is the way the world is perceived by us as individuals
this perception is what we know life to be

Our lives are our reality
Therefore what we perceive becomes our reality
Perception is reality

Others perceive me the same way
The way I sound, the way I look, and the way I act.
It is important, then, for me to know how I want to be perceived and to speak, appear, and act accordingly.
The way they perceive me will be based upon these things, and that perception will become their reality of me.
Perception is Reality

We each have our own realities
which are based on our perceptions
Life is about learning to see and understand other people's perceptions
So that the reality we all live in is not completely different from our own.

The way people look at me
The way people hear my voice
And the way I feel to others when they shake my hand
Is their perception of me
And that perception becomes part of their reality.

The rest of their reality is
how they perceive what the world has to offer them.
Perception IS reality.
