Mom and Dad's Christmas Letter 2000

December, 2000

We have so much to be thankful for!  It’s time again for our annual Christmas letter and everyone is doing well!  It’s snowing in the mountains, the boys will all be home for Christmas and we finally have a president-elect!!  What an amazing world we live in! Mike and Lisa continue to thrive in their work with Mike still consulting with the BLM and Lisa teaching middle school choral music.  Their time together seems to occur mostly with the symphony rehearsals and performances, which are always rewarding.  We are beginning to update our home by remodeling the kitchen and this spring we’ll give the outside a new look with a tile roof.  The next step will be redoing the railings and replacing the carpeting!  What fun!

Brian is completing his Bachelors of Business this year but plans to go on and complete his Masters, possibly at DU. He’s kept very busy all year by working for ICG (a telecommunications company), going to school, managing our house in Colorado Springs and playing lacrosse.  What’s really amazing is that he’s also fit in a couple of vacation trips and can always find time to spend with his family!

Jonathan is finishing up his first 2-½ years of school at UNC with majors in Speech Communications and Journalism and minors in Music and German.  As if that wasn’t enough he is the General Manager for KUNC radio station, belongs to a scholastic fraternity and is also a newly certified Massage Therapist (anybody need a really good back-rub?)  He’ll be looking for a job in Denver for the next three months before he goes to Germany for a semester of his course work.

Adam is halfway through his second year although he’s already technically a junior.  He works very hard to keep his grade point high enough to maintain his National Merit Scholarship but also finds time for a couple University choirs and last spring was in a University production called “Talk Radio”.  Just this fall, he’s become a D.J. for a music company and provides music for all kinds of parties, weddings, etc.

Deanna must take after her brothers for she is totally engaged in a variety of activities including piano and dance lessons, plus the school choir and a girl’s math club.  She also enjoys her Girls Scouts and this year is most enthusiastic about her involvement with the Colorado Children’s Chorale.  When she was about 4 years old she was attending one of the boy’s high school concerts and she wanted to know when would she get to perform on the big stage.  Well, it’s already happening for her as she sang in Boettcher Concert last weekend!!

Yes, life is busy but we’re so thankful for our many blessings and opportunities.  We’re hoping this letter finds you happy and in good health!
