That's not the case with DISH's satellite tv service.  Right now, they are offering free satellite TV systems for almost everywhere across the continental United States.  In addition to that, a representative will come to your home and install the satellite dish system free of charge.  I copied a listing of the cost of DISH network's satellite service plans from their web site. 

These are some pretty good prices, and they got cheaper, (not more expensive as you might expect), starting Feb. 1, 2003.  This is especially true when you compare satellite television with cable television.

DISH Network has great customer service. They offer lots of ways for you to get help when you have a question about your satellite television service:

              24 hour phone help
              online interactive response forms
              quick response time for fixing problems
 

In addition to all the big name channels on the right, DISH Network has added many digital local TV stations.  This was a complaint from many people when satellite television first came out, and still is a complaint from people whose current satellite provider doesn't provide their local channels as part of the satellite service.
