SMS

When I was in Germany I used to send many SMS'.  Anikka from Finland said that SMS stands for short message service.  SMS is text messaging between phones (and is also text messaging from computers and email to mobile phones) and is a major means of communication in Germany, many places in Europe, and more and more, the rest of the world. 

For those who are in Europe and have Handys (Cell Phones), you can send instant text messages directly to the phones.  It's a very popular thing in Europe, and is just starting to become popular in the U.S.  When I was in Germany, I actually used SMS on my handy more than calling.

There are a few places you can go to to send SMS's from the computer, but I understand that the security on this has changed somewhat since September 11th, so if you try these links and can't figure out how to send an SMS or it won't let you, email me at [email protected].
