Die Kuche (kitchen)/ Wohnungszimmer (living room)

The kitchen joins the living room.  The kitchen on my floor is generally quite messy, or at least it has been since I got here.  Maybe Jenny and I will have to do something about that once I get more settled in...or if Jenny doesn't want to help me clean it up, maybe I'll just do it, but it definitely needs some work as far as cleanliness is concerned.

The doorway on the right (behind the random shopping cart--don't ask me why it's on the 5th floor of this building) leads into my room.  The open door (left) leads into the living room and kitchen.

This is what you see left and right (respectively) when you walk through the above door.  The phone on the wall on the left is actually not a phone.  All the rooms in the building have these phones, but it's an intercom system from downstairs that lets you buzz people in.

Die/das/der Kuche.  I am so terrible with gender articles (der die das are gender articles).

The view of the living room from the kitchen.

(180 degrees from the above picture, and taken from the opposite side of the doorway.)

Through the doorway in the picture above and to the left.  There are two fridges and a freezer for my floor.  Guess what?  If I want ice water, I can have it!!!

The TV is an older one that you actually have to tune by hand with little tuning knobs.  That was new for me!
