Hi Jonathan! What's up :-)
Below there's my draft to a rhyming poem called "In Brazil". The poem is about a lonely man and his inner journey for happiness. Finally he finds it, even for a short while, in a Brazilian carnival.
The structure is final and should be 22 rows exactly (4 rows are repetitive).
Currently, apart from my bad English - this short poem is not rhyming well - it should have a logical poetic line to connect the dots.
I'd like the reader to feel empathy for this unrequited love situation.
Here it is:
"There, where the sun reign
beyond the absolute horizon
You can never feel alone again
In Brazil, the carnival is on (still)
your eyes just found me (feel)
And the dream is real
Don't say it's over now
it's never too late, this is my vow
let's dance the samba, and love
Cause the carnival feels like heaven above
In your eyes the waves are reflected
How can't you see,
My heart burns in flames
When you return, you'll definitely see
I'll Embrace you closer to me
So forever we will be
Don't say it's over now
it's never too late, this is my vow
let's dance the samba, and love
Cause the carnival feels like heaven above
Why does love burn,
So much when it's gone"
